I build websites

Humble Beginnings

I designed my first webpage in 1998 while I was a freshman at the University of Michigan. Nothing too outrageous, but I was able to use the clouds from The Simpsons as my background. I was happy.

First Official Gig

While in college I was the go-to guy for web questions, mainly helping people find stuff. It wasn't until I started working for the Professional Disc Golf Association that I began taking web development seriously. I managed pdga.com and pdgatour.com for the organization. I helped writers post their content. I built photo galleries. I did other stuff.

Geekery Blossoms

After the PDGA, I took the full plunge and worked for a large publishing company where I was their primary webmaster. I developed PHP/Javascript skills. I learned to follow web standards. I learned SEO stuff and how to make pages load fast.

And Now Here We Are

So now I develop webpages for friends, local businesses and not-so-local companies. It's fun.

I manage projects

International Disc Golf Center

After college, I moved to Augusta, Georgia where I was hired by the Professional Disc Golf Association to help build the International Disc Golf Center.

During my time with the PDGA, I worked with various stakeholders to get the initial planning off the ground. Working with the Army Corps of Engineers, the Government of Columbia County, and PDGA representatives, I worked to clear various planning stages to mutual satisfaction.

North American Publishing Company

I worked on a major IT project converting 17 websites from an outdated content management system to an open source system. I was heavily involved in staff training, security and achieving business goals.

Gillieo Media

Running my own design and media company has exposed me to various businesses: entrepreneurs and established, for-profit and not-for-profit.

I write articles

Articles About Disc Golf

During my time with the PDGA, I wrote articles for all the leading disc golf magazines: Disc Golf News, Disc Golf Magazine, Disc Golfer

Stories ranged from tournament coverage, to office updates, to informational articles about organizational goals.

821 Review

821 is a blog detailing my experiences going through the Johns Hopkins Global MBA program as well as a place to share some thoughts from myself and the world.
